CTI tours to this huge continent include a tour to the new South Africa entitled "Madiba" visiting the sites associated with President Nelson Mandela. West Africa is represented with a tour inspired by Alex Haley's book and television program "Roots" with a tour to Senegal and The Gambia. CTI has also operated tours for University groups to Ghana and Monrovia. North African programs include Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt, an example is Egypt and the Upper Nile. CTI pioneered the Antiquity tours to Egypt with the Detroit Institute of Arts 25 years ago.
